Rajgupuram
Mel Sithamur Jain Math, also known as Jin Kanchi Jain Math, is one of the famous Jain Maths in Southern India. This Math is located near Gingee, a town in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. The math dates back to the 12th century or earlier.
Bhattarak Laxmisen is the head of this Math. He is traditionally chief of all the Digambar Jain temples in his area.
There are two Jain temples in Math complex, one is dedicated to Bhagwan Parswanath and the other to Bhagwan Mallinath. The Parshwanath temple, also known as Rajagopuram is a seven-story tower, as seen in the image above. The Parshwanath idol in this temple is 14 feet in height. The Manstambh of this temple is 52 feet high.
